"Every brushstroke is an invitation to pause, to feel, and to find your own meaning in the work."

Liat Greenberg

Born in a small town in Israel, with years spent in Brussels and now living in Stockholm with her partner and daughter, her life has been shaped by movement and cultural contrasts. Creativity was always present nurtured at home, studied through fashion design in Tel Aviv, and carried as a quiet passion when she moved north for work. What began as personal expression soon turned into something more. A gallery in Stockholm discovered her paintings, and with that, a professional artistic journey unfolded alongside her career as a fashion designer.

At the heart of her work lies a fascination with color—its combinations, tensions, and the emotions it can awaken. Her process is spontaneous, a direct reflection of fleeting moments, impressions, and unnoticed details of everyday life. She paints to search for harmony, but sometimes also for the deliberate dissonance that sparks deeper feeling. What matters most is the response: that her work invites the viewer to pause, to feel, and to bring their own meaning into the canvas.

Between Control and Freedom

Her practice is one of exploration. From oils to the unpredictability of watercolors, from acrylics and pastels to layered combinations, each material opens a new conversation between control and freedom. The same openness guides her approach to subject matter—embracing femininity where once she felt the need to hold back. Inspired by artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Hilma af Klint, Louise Bourgeois, and Marlene Dumas, she reclaims what the world too often diminishes, elevating softness, vulnerability, and so-called “feminine” forms with strength and pride.

This journey has brought her to works both intimate and ambitious, including a mural in Amsterdam that tested her limits and expanded her vocabulary. Yet, for her, the most meaningful project is always the next one the discovery waiting in a new surface, a new medium, or a new emotional landscape.

Looking forward, her ambition is simple yet powerful: to keep creating. To let her art evolve, to share it with wider audiences, and to keep offering inspiration through each layer of color and form. For her, painting is not just about what is seen it’s about what is felt, uncovered, and remembered.
